Royksopp in Moscow
On June 21st at the Stas Namin Centre in Gorky Park, a concert played by a band called Royksopp will take place. The group will be the first guest of the monthly Music Festival, Ray Day. The Norwegian techno-pop duo will perform in Moscow for the first time.
These guys have played for the Norwegian music scene in the same role as Daft Punk did for the French. Few people expect a band from cold Scandinavia to play such “incendiary” tracks, which are recognized on both sides of the Atlantic. Apple has used them for the welcome jingle composition for Mac OS X Panther, two of their songs were included in the FIFA computer game soundtrack, and a British magazine Mixmag included them in the top 100 most prominent performers of contemporary dance music.
“Senior”, their last album, was released in 2010. Immediately after the release, Royksopp promised a speedy release of new works, but there was just one 13 minute track released in September of last year.
